mas misc

This is the color study that I went with for the finished first project. The final looks like this only less interesting, so... bleh.

There is figure drawing two nights a week, we use nupasel on toned paper and are looking for massing values to separate the figure and background, creating a strong silhouette/shape. They are 10-15 min poses.

Last night a gaggle of us drank and did monotypes. I've never done em before - superfun!
Speedy of Mr. D w/ pallette knife - about 5x6 inches.

A big focus of mine this summer is getting outside my comfort zone and trying new things, different techniques, subject matter, styles, color palletes... basically exploring to a wide variety to help me understand my own interests and aesthetic better. This next one is along that vein, it's a sketch from my head in oil. I will let it dry and do some glazes, then pull out a focal point.
